Engineer
Understanding the enemy’s strategy and goal is vital to mission success when combating IED’s and bomber networks. The “why and who” behind a bombing, a suspicious package or a bombing campaign requires a more complete picture in order to develop the most accurate assessment. The Engineer course builds the perspective EOD Operators need to complete the picture.
Zero Point Instructors have faced many types of bombers and threats for decades. The Engineer course is designed to dramatically increase the Operator’s ability to assess the threat. The course is 5 days of practical and classroom instruction. Lessons learned from case studies of past events are examined and a practical review and construction of real world IED circuits lead to a culmination exercise where participants are asked to take on the role of the “Bomber”. Participants gain a deeper perspective of the threat they face by designing and constructing a training device and employing it against a simulated target.
